The MEMS schematics might look 2D, but they contain just as much 3D data as Finite Elements
ARCHITECT software simulates physical effects in different engineering domains (hydraulic, electronic, mechanical, thermal, etc.) as well as signal-flow algorithms and software control. The simulator of ARCHITECT is Saber which is used in the automotive, aerospace, power and IC industries to simulate and analyze systems, sub-systems and components under a variety of different operational and environmental conditions. This dramatically improves design reliability while reducing the need for physical prototypes. The ARCHITECT software product contains many components that are needed for efficient and cost effective MEMS product development. The user has full access to:
Schematic Editor
MEMS 3D model library
The MEMS 3D model library is the hub of ARCHITECT for MEMS design. More details can be found in the ARCHITECT reference manual.
- Template Library
The ARCHITECT Template library contains many generic multi-physics models to complete schematic designs easily. It also contains a complete Spice model library
- Component Library
In addition to the Template library, ARCHITECT provides more than 20,000 verified components from simple resistors and diodes to complex IC’s
- Simulator (Saber and SaberHDL)
Key features include:
- the industry's largest model library
- the ability to perform advanced analyses (Monte Carlo, Stress, Sensitivity, etc.) supporting robust design methodologies, integration into popular design environments, and support for standard modeling languages including MAST and VHDL-AMS. Saber improves design productivity by helping engineers create more robust, reliable and cost-efficient designs in less time.
- Manufacturing Analysis (Inspec Module)
The InSpecs family of design analysis products, provides the ability to perform Monte Carlo, stress, sensitivity, and parametric analysis. All analyses can be performed on systems containing any mix of technologies
Model ARCHITECT
Some of the Model ARCHITECT tools are:
- StateSpaceEditor
This utility program allows the user to graphically create models and visualize any mathematical equation
- TableLookUp Tool
This modeling utility allows the user to create models directly from measured data
- Transmission line tool
This 2D field solver utility automatically creates models of transmission lines for
insertion into the main schematic
- CosmosScope
CosmosScope is a graphical waveform analyzer for analyzing simulated results of digital, analog, and mixed signal circuits
Material Database
The ARCHITECT schematics are closely coupled to the Material Database, minimizing data entry for the user
Process Editor
The ARCHITECT schematics are closely coupled to the 3D process data allowing the user to build 3D MEMS device more easily
MEMS+IC Design Tools (FrameWay + Matlab Simulink)
ARCHITECT provides software links to IC design tools from Cadence, Mentor and Synopsys in addition to Co-Simulation tools to Matlab-Simulink. This allows the user to connect the complex 3D MEMS ARCHITECT designs to IC simulation tools
