MEMS+ 1.0 System Requirements
Supported Operating Systems
- Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3
- Windows XP Professional 64
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux WorkStation 4 or Desktop 5, 32-bit or 64-bit
Hardware
- Intel Pentium 4 class or newer, or AMD X86-compatible CPU
- minimum 1.6 GHz, faster is recommended
- minimum 512 kB L2 cache, more is recommended
- Dual CPUs or dual core CPUs, such as Intel Core Duo, are recommended because they allow use of the system for other tasks while MEMS+ is running
- 1 GB RAM, more is desirable
- Page file size should be set to twice the RAM size
- 0.6 GB of disk space for installation
- Minimum 5 GB free disk space for operation
- Graphics card or sub-system
- Support for OpenGL Version 1.2 or higher
- Discrete (as opposed to integrated) graphics with a minimum of 64 MB dedicated memory is recommended.
- NVIDIA chip sets are strongly recommended for Linux systems
- Up-to-date driver software

Import/Export Formats
- Imports 2-D layout files in GDSII, CIF, and DXF (version R14 or lower) formats
- Exports 2-D layouts in GDSII, DXF (version R09), IGES and SAT formats
- Imports 3-D solid models in ACIS SAT (.sat, version 16 or lower) and Pro/Engineer .prt and .asm formats
- Exports 3-D solid modesl in ACIS SAT, STEP and IGS formats
- Imports 3-D meshes in UNV (version 10 or 11) format
- Exports 3-D meshes in Ansys Prep7 (.ans) format
- Imports Ansys structural result files (.rst), displacements and stress
