Export Physical Models to Mesh Formats
The SEMulator3D Meshing package enables the export of SEMulator3D physical models to various mesh formats for interface to other modeling and analysis tools, including CoventorWare. This advanced option improves downstream analysis, such as capacitance extraction, by using SEMulator3D’s high-quality physical models in place of the idealized structures seen in typical analyses. The Meshing operation has many options, allowing users to fully customize their mesh output in terms of resolution, refinement and format.
With this capability, users can apply SEMulator3D’s high-speed predictive virtual fabrication technology to produce realistic physical models and then use those realistic models in a variety of applications, from Parasitic Extraction to 3D Printing, and many more.
The SEMulator3D Meshing Option supports the creation of surface and/or volume meshes in several popular formats:

|BND||DF-ISE boundary format is a file format used by TCAD solvers. It is a simple ASCII format that contains a multi-material surface mesh.|
|DXF||AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Format. Does not preserve material names or colors|
|OBJ||Wavefront Object format. Preserves material names and colors. Used by many applications, including Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.|
|Volume||ANS||ANSYS\Prep7 preprocessor format. Uses SOLID45 (linear) or SOLID95 (quadratic) element types.|
|UNV||SDRC/Ideas “Universal” format. Preserves material names and colors.|
SEMulator3D also supports direct voxel export and import through an XML based voxel file format. Voxel export may be useful in place of mesh export for some applications.
