Training Course – Microfluidics Design and Analysis

This is a 2-day introductory course covering the basic principles of CoventorWare and its application to the Microfluidics and Microchemistry markets. Students will design and simulate devices using CoventorWare with instruction and guided tutorials that address the needs of the Biochip industry.

Topics covered in the training include:

  • Overview of the basic concepts of computational fluid dynamics including Navier-Stokes equation, bubble models, compressibility, numerical algorithms
  • 3D simulation of chemical transport in electrophoretic, electro-osmotic, and pressure driven systems.
  • Modeling Electro-hydrodynamics using NetFlow and SwitchSim
  • Modeling Inkjets using BubbleDropSim
  • Architect fluidic elements and reduced order modeling in fluidics domain

Core instructional material is covered in the first day. The second day is spent learning a specific advanced module or simulating a specific device of interest to the customer. (This will be arranged in advance upon or prior to registration).

Who Should Attend

The course is designed for students without previous experience of using CoventorWare’s Microfluidics simulation tools. Some knowledge of Microfluidiucs is useful, but not required.
