Cadence required modules and compatibility on RHEL Desktop 5:

  • Virtuoso SchematicEditor and Analog Design Environment (ADE) 5.1.41, 6.1.5 or 6.1.6, 64-bit only
  • Spectre or SpectreRF version 10.1 or 13.1, 32- or 64-bit (these simulators are included with MMSIM 10.1 or MMSIM 13.1), OR

    • Multi-core processors are recommended because the field solvers will run faster and because they allow use of the system for other tasks while field solvers are running.
  • 8 GB RAM (more is desirable)
  • Page file size should be set to twice the RAM size
  • 2.5 GB of disk space for installation
  • Minimum 5 GB free disk space for operation, more is recommended
  • Graphics card or sub-system
    • Support for OpenGL Version 1.2 or higher
    • Support for DirectX 9

  • Intel Core or Xeon family CPU, or comparable AMD CPU
    • minimum 2 GHz, faster is recommended
    • minimum 2 MB L2 cache, more is recommended
    • Multi-core processors are recommended because the modeling engine will build 3D models faster.
  • 4 GB RAM (more is desirable)
  • 200 MB of disk space for installation
  • Minimum 5 GB free disk space for operation, more is recommended
  • SEMulator3D Viewer and SEMulator3D Reader require graphics acceleration hardware.
    • Graphics hardware must support OpenGL version 1.4 or higher
    • NVIDIA-based graphics hardware is preferred due to better support for OpenGL
    • Discrete (as opposed to integrated) graphics with a minimum of 256 MB dedicated memory is preferred.
    • Up-to-date driver software
    • Display set to 1024 x 768 minimum resolution, 32-bit color
    • Note: Due to lack of support for graphics hardware, SEMulator3D Viewer and SEMulator3D Reader will not function correctly over Windows Remote Desktop.
