Supported Operating Systems

  • Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3
  • Windows XP Professional 64, Service Pack 2
  • Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux WorkStation 4 or Desktop 5, 64-bit

Hardware

  • Any Intel Pentium 4 class or newer or AMD X86-compatible CPU

CoventorWare 2012 System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems

  • Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2 or 3 (3 is recommended)
  • Windows XP Professional 64, Service Pack 2
  • Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux WorkStation 4 or Desktop 5, 64-bit

Hardware

  • Intel Pentium 4 class or newer, or AMD X86-compatible CPU
    • minimum 2 GHz, faster is recommended
    • minimum 2 MB L2 cache, more is recommended
    • Dual processors and/or multiple cores per processor are recommended because the field solvers will run faster and because they allow use of the system for other tasks while CoventorWare field solvers are running.
  • 2 GB RAM, (more is desirable)
  • a max of 3 GB RAM is accessible on 32-bit Windows or Linux
  • 4 GB or more is desirable on Windows XP 64, Windows 7 64-bit and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to run simulations that require more memory
  • Page file size should be set to twice the RAM size
  • 2.5 GB of disk space for installation
  • Minimum 5 GB free disk space for operation, more is recommended
  • Graphics card or sub-system
    • Support for OpenGL Version 1.2 or higher
    • Support for DirectX 9
    • Discrete (as opposed to integrated) graphics with a minimum of 128 MB dedicated memory is recommended.
    • NVIDIA chip sets are recommended for Windows and Linux systems. ATI chip sets may be acceptable for Windows systems.

MEMS+ 2.1 System Requirements

  • MATLAB Simulink R2009b through R2010b, 32-bit only

  • Virtuoso_Schematic_Editor 5.1.41 or 6.1.x up to 6.1.4, 32- and 64-bit
  • Analog Design Environment 5.1.41 or 6.1.x up to 6.1.4, 32- and 64-bit
  • Spectre, SpectreRF or UltraSim version 621 and all 7XX or higher (these simulators are included with MMSIM 621 and all 7XX), 32- and 64-bit
  • Virtuoso Layout Suite 6.1.x (optional, only required for exporting MEMS+ Pcells) (Versions 5.1.41 are available with IC5141 and versions 6.1.x with IC61x), 32- and 64-bit

SEMulator3D 2011 and SEMulator3D Reader 2011 System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems

  • Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
  • Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux WorkStation 4 or Desktop 5 64-bit (SEMulator3D Reader is only supported on Windows)

Hardware

    • Intel Pentium 4 class or newer, or AMD X86-compatible CPU
      • minimum 1.6 GHz, faster is recommended
      • minimum 512 kB L2 cache, more is recommended
      • Dual processors and/or multiple cores per processor are recommended because the SEMulator3D voxel modeling engine will build 3D models faster.
    • 1 GB RAM or more
    • 150 MB of disk space for installation
    • Minimum 5 GB free disk space for operation, more is recommended
    • Graphics card or subsystem
      • Support for OpenGL version 1.4 or higher
      • Discrete (as opposed to integrated) graphics with a minimum of 128 MB dedicated memory is recommended.
      • NVIDIA chip sets are recommended for Windows and Linux systems. ATI chip sets may be acceptable for Windows systems.
      • Up-to-date driver software
      • Hardware support for alpha blending (available on most newer cards)
      • Display set to 1024 x 768 minimum resolution, 16-bit color or better
